BELLE Vue newcomer Connor Mountain is ready to take the next step in his Speedway career and see how he stacks up to some of the world’s best in the Peter Craven Memorial on March 18.
The prestigious field is only a handful of names away from completion, with the likes of Jason Doyle, Dan Bewley, Fredrik Lindgren, Max Fricke, Brady Kurtz and Robert Lambert all confirmed.
The Norfolk native is a familiar face on the British Speedway scene, beginning his career with Mildenhall in 2014 and, ten years later, now having graduated to join the ATPI Aces.
Throughout the years, he’s been a key instrument in some of his former club’s most triumphant moments, including Sheffield’s League Cup win in 2022.
This will be Mountain’s first full season in British Speedway’s top flight, however, and he’s desperate to prove that he can hold his own with some of the juggernauts of the sport.
Belle Vue CEO Mark Lemon said: “This is a big year for Connor. He’s had a taste of life in the Premiership but as yet he hasn’t had the benefit of a full season with one team.
“We’ve always maintained at Belle Vue that development is at the heart of our club. We want to see riders improve and we want to see them progress onto big things.
“Connor has been around for a while and this year is his chance to really come into his own, and he was very enthusiastic about accepting his chance with us.
“I’ve no doubt he’ll be giving everything he’s got in the Peter Craven memorial. He wants to start his season at Belle Vue by making a good impression and I have faith that he will.”
