BELLE VUE boss Mark Lemon was delighted with the “solid team performance” in the win at Oxford.
The ATPI Aces picked up a strong 52-38 victory over the Spires in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership at Cowley on Thursday night.
With three heat advantages in the opening four races, the Manchester side ripped into an eight-point lead and never looked like losing control of the meeting thereafter.
Lemon said: “We got an edge early on and carried that confidence through the rest of the meeting.
“There were some strong challenges from Oxford but we just had the upper hand.
“We seemed to make use of the gates and track better.
“After the first four races we just chipped away. With young Tate (Zischke) and Jake (Mulford), I don’t think their scores reflected how well they rode.
“But all-in-all a good solid team performance. There are really encouraging signs.
“Oxford aren’t a team on great form. But nonetheless, we have to pick up these away wins, which are all so critical to reach the play-offs.”
Brady Kurtz delivered a full 12-point maximum with Dan Bewley picking up a paid maximum.
Jaimon Lidsey and Zach Cook were both excellent with 11 and paid 10 respectively. In truth, all the team played their part with key contributions.
He added: “One of the reasons we signed Zach (Cook) was because I felt his away form would perhaps be stronger than his scoring at the National Speedway Stadium.
“He’s fitted into the role in the engine room really nicely with Jaimon (Lidsey). He should be really happy with his efforts tonight. Apart from one untidy fall, he was excellent.
“Zach is slowly building momentum. He’s got a nice little style and his confidence is growing.
“I feel there is a lot more to come from this team. But so far so good.”
