BELLE VUE boss Mark Lemon insists his team have got more in the tank despite a huge win over Sheffield.
The ATPI Aces comfortably beat the Tigers 54-36 in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership in front of a huge crowd at the National Speedway Stadium on Monday afternoon.
It was another breathtaking meeting of entertainment in Manchester as the home side swept aside their play-off local rivals in style.
But Lemon vows that more is to come from his troops. He said: “We always know these War of the Roses clashes will be hotly contested.
“We lost the bonus point which is disappointing. But we gave them a pretty good shake-up to miss out by just two points.
“When you win a meeting by 18 points you generally get the bonus. We’ve still go work to do but there were some really encouraging signs today.
“We’ve now got King’s Lynn on Thursday and we need another solid performance.
“We haven’t peaked as a team. The play-offs is just about peaking at the right time. I think we have more in the tank.
“Where we finish in the table doesn’t truly matter. It’s just getting our form right when the semi-finals arrive.”
Brady Kurtz was once again impeccable for the ATPI Aces with a perfect 15-point maximum, his seventh full house of the campaign, the best record in the Premiership.
He said: “It was a really good day. It was nice to see the whole team produce a good performance.
“Sheff’s always tough. It sucks racing against them really. It’s always built up more than other meetings.
“I think we can be really proud of that win. It would have been nice to win the bonus obviously. But we lost that at Sheffield not here today.
“I think a good performance like that is all we need in the play-offs.
“It was a good one for Tate today. It was good to see him get a couple of wins.
“I’d like nothing more than another title to be fair. I’ve always been pretty open about the fact that the British leagues means a lot to me.
“It would be great to get another win. It’s been pretty special to win two already. To do the back-to-back is something we haven’t done yet. One more to tick off.”
Dan Bewley was also impressive, including a wonderful piece of team riding with Tate Zischke in heat 4.
He added: “The track was nice today, pretty hot day, it was never too flooded or too dry. No complaints from me.
“I feel like we had a good performance today. It wasn’t quite enough to get the bonus point. It wasn’t a terrible day!
“I think we are starting to get a few riders really clicking now, it’s all looking good.”
Zischke also produced one of his best displays of the season with seven and two vital 5-1s.
He said: “It’s been a really disappointing season. Every time I get back in the workshop I’m doing everything I can. It’s just been really tough.
“It’s nice to get some points today, make some starts and get out in front. Hopefully can keep pushing this on.”
