BELLE VUE will face a War of the Roses Grand Final in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership with their opponents now confirmed as fierce rivals Sheffield.

The Tigers made it through an incredible semi-final second leg at Leicester on Thursday, which saw them throw away a 24-point first leg lead only to edge out the Lions in a Super Heat after a 90-90 aggregate tie.

It sets up a repeat of the dramatic 2022 Grand Final which saw the Aces stage the first leg at home, winning 51-39 but at the cost of losing Charles Wright and Jye Etheridge to injury.

That put them on the back foot at Owlerton, but a magnificent rearguard action in an incident packed meeting saw them clinch their first league title since 1993 in the penultimate race.

This time around, roles are reversed as Sheffield stage the first leg, with the ATPI Aces travelling across to South Yorkshire next Thursday (October 8).

And then all roads lead to the National Speedway Stadium on Monday October 12 for the biggest domestic meeting ever to be staged at the venue as the Aces look to secure the top prize.

Skipper Brady Kurtz said: “Obviously it was cool the first year that we did it, and in ’24 (at Leicester), but we’ve never done it at home.

“That would be a much better deal and I’m super excited to bring the Grand Final here, and I’d love it to be a good one.

“It would be something pretty special but we’re pretty far away from it at the moment, and we need to focus.”

Tickets for the home leg of the Grand Final on October 12 are now available from https://www.bellevue-speedway.com/tickets .
