From the moment of his crash in Wrocław, the Belle Vue Trust has been actively monitoring all developments, in terms of the nature of the injuries, support and immediate welfare needs of Charles Wright.

In the wake of the accident, WTS Sparta Wrocław have, understandably, provided Charles with the best available clinical assessment and medical care and that is continuing.

The Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund have provided Leanne, Charles' fiancé, the means for travel and accommodation to be with him in Poland, and Redcar Speedway have begun an online Gofundme collection which currently stands in the region of £2,000.

The very nature of the injuries, which are well documented elsewhere, suggest that the recovery process and subsequent rehabilitation is likely to be prolonged. This is where the Trust will focus its efforts and disbursements in order to facilitate and achieve the best possible outcome.

If additional welfare needs arise during the intervening period, which are not covered elsewhere, the Trust will assess and consider any further assistance as needed. Further announcements will be made, as and when necessary, to highlight just how the Trust is facilitating Charles' care and rehabilitation process.

The Belle Vue Speedway Supporters Club will also be holding a collection for Charles at Monday's meeting, with donation buckets located at the 50/50 tables on both sides of the Stadium.
