JASON Doyle says he was delighted to get off and running for Belle Vue with his unbeaten performance in Monday’s big win over Leicester.

The 2017 World Champion received a rapturous welcome from the ATPI Aces fans in his first meeting since replacing the injured Dan Bewley, and he admitted being on the home side was a pleasant experience.

He reeled off four wins out of four in a 12-point maximum as the Aces slammed the Lions 61-29, and Doyle says he perfectly accepts his role as stand-in with Bewley’s potential racing situation for later this year still unclear.

Doyle quipped: “I’ve got some small boots to fill! Dan’s only tiny, but it’s massive boots in my eyes.

“It’s always an honour to come here and race at Belle Vue, but I’m normally getting (beaten) in Heats 13 and 15 by Brady (Kurtz) and Dan!

“I’ve really enjoyed my night, and hopefully there’s more to come. I’ll do 100 per cent and make sure I give what the fans what they want.

“That’s me, it’s how I’ve done 20 years of racing in Great Britain, so hopefully the fans can see something special this year and if Dan comes back ready for the Finals then I’ll sit there and cheer us on.

“I’m here as long as I can be. I’m happy to be here, it’s a great track and it’s great people around involved.”

Doyle admits it’s been a frantic fortnight to get everything ready to return to ROWE Motor Oil Premiership racing after contact was made by Aces boss Mark Lemon.

His signing was announced last week which meant a major logistical effort was required to make sure he was well set-up for his debut

Doyle said: “It was probably two weeks ago I reckon that the call came, and then it was all guns blazing because I had bikes in Sweden and I had to get over there.

“Last week on Wednesday I rode in Denmark and then drove back 17 hours to England with the bikes and with another Polish mechanic, and then flew back to Poland the same day to practice on Friday!

“So it’s been a bit of a nightmare, but this was a good way to finish the week.”

Doyle joins Kurtz in the fifth round of the Grand Prix series at Wroclaw on Saturday, whilst next week’s Premiership action is set to be especially significant.

The table-topping Aces go into home and away matches against Ipswich, meaning Doyle faces the team he represented for the last four seasons including the Witches’ title win of 2025.
