“FIGHTING SPIRIT” NEEDED

BELLE VUE boss Mark Lemon has called for “fighting spirit” from his side for the clash at Ipswich.

The ATPI Aces go to Suffolk for a vital ROWE Motor Oil Premiership fixture tonight (Thursday).

Just one point separates the table-topping Witches and Lemon’s on-form team who won the corresponding tie in Manchester by 14 points late last month.

He said: “Ipswich have been the best side in the league so far this season.

“They are especially strong at Foxhall and with Jason Doyle and Dan Thompson back from injury, they are a formidable outfit.

“But I felt our boys did a wonderful job against them in Manchester so we go there full of belief.

“It won’t be easy and we suffered big time in the KO Cup earlier in the season.

“We are a better side now, I felt there were other issues that affected us on that night.

“Our away form does need to go up a level and that starts on Thursday night. We will need to show our fighting spirit.”

ATPI Aces No.1 and captain Brady Kurtz is on a crest of wave in the Premiership and SGP series.

He delivered a paid maximum in the recent home win over the Witches.

He added: “Our home form has almost been perfect but the away meetings can do with a bit of work.

“Hopefully at Ipswich on Thursday we can put in a good one. I would really like us to get some points from there.”
