At 11:00am, the funeral cortege will arrive at the National Speedway Stadium for Steve’s final lap around the track that he loved so dearly.
Club staff, volunteers and supporters are welcome to attend, and are requested to make their way into the pits in advance and will be permitted to observe from the stands.
The funeral service will commence at 12 noon at the Gorton Monastery where, again, all are welcome to attend to pay their respects.
A private committal for the family will then take place, and a private celebration of Steve’s life will be held at the Stadium at 7pm for family, friends and club staff and volunteers only.
The family has also encouraged people to wear whatever they wish, including attire they would normally wear to a meeting, as Steve would not want it to be a sombre occasion.
