BELLE VUE captain Brady Kurtz hopes his side can be fired-up for a strong reaction after defeat at Sheffield.
The ATPI Aces were lacking strength-in-depth in the 55-35 loss at Owlerton Stadium on Monday night.
Only Dan Bewley with paid 14, Brady Kurtz paid 10 and Jamion Lidsey eight were competitive in a below par performance.
Now the Manchester side face another tough away trip to Ipswich on Thursday. Kurtz insists they can find a better level.
He said: “Sheffield is a very tough track to come to if you’re a little bit down on confidence.
“It’s never been our strong track, we’ve never had too much success here in my entire time here at Belle Vue.
“It’s another tough one for us. We all tried to learn as much as we could and try to find something working in case we come back for the play-offs.
“I hope the boys learnt what they did wrong or right. All we can try and do is focus on the home match now.
“It’s a very tough week for us. Ipswich is another one we’ve struggled at in the past.
“A few of us have had a lot of good matches there before. Hopefully today can maybe fire us up a little bit. We could really do with a win there.”
The home side were always in control after slipping into an eight-point lead after six races.
In a tactical substitute ride, Bewley and Kurtz stopped the rot temporarily with the only heat advantage 5-1 for the ATPI Aces in Heat 11.
Team boss Mark Lemon knows they need to find something special when they go to the league leaders on Thursday night.
He added: “We’ve got to go to Ipswich on Thursday and we’ve got to step up our away performances if we are going to do anything come the play-offs.
“I feel a little bit disappointed tonight. Our two world class riders Dan and Brady are really flying high with confidence. The rest of the team not so much.
“You’ve got to hit the dirt line here and sadly the boys haven’t been punching enough.
“But that’s tonight we’ve now got an aggregate bonus point to consider when they come to the National Speedway Stadium later this month.”
