BELLE Vue look to make it two away wins in a week when they make the trip to Leicester on Thursday (7.30pm) to face the side immediately below them in the league table.
The ATPI Aces put in another excellent performance to win 50-40 at King’s Lynn on Monday, their third victory on the road in 2026.
It increased their advantage in the standings to six points ahead of a Leicester side who have also been in good form and also have two matches in hand.
The East Midlands outfit have been strong at home as ever, with recent away wins at King’s Lynn and Ipswich significantly enhancing their play-off prospects.
Barring a catastrophe of epic proportions, the Aces should at least be confident of returning home with the aggregate point having slammed the Lions 61-29 in the reverse fixture last month.
But they know this is also an opportunity to make a statement at a venue where they clinched the league title back in October 2024, although visits since then have seen them low on fortune and often with key riders missing.
On this occasion both teams are scheduled to be at full strength with Leicester set to welcome back Nick Morris after a brief period on the sidelines with a back injury, whilst the Aces name an unchanged riding order from Monday’s win in Norfolk.
Manager Mark Lemon said: “Picking up the wins on the road that we have done so far has really helped our position, but I think Thursday’s meeting at Leicester is going to be a real acid test.
“If we can get a result down there then it might well indicate where we really are, so let’s see what we can do there against a side who are strong at home.
“I’d certainly like to think that we won’t lose the aggregate point, although you never want to under-estimate these things in this game because it’s been done before.
“But we’re looking forward to the meeting and we’re hoping to keep up the momentum that we’ve been building lately.”
