FOURTEEN of the Premiership’s best riders lock horns at Leicester on Thursday, June 29 for the 2023 Premiership Pairs competition at the Pidcock Motorcycles Arena.

And representing the reigning league champions Belle Vue will be GP star Dan Bewley and captain fantastic Brady Kurtz, with Rising Star Jake Mulford also along for the ride.

The Pairs event was originally set to be contested over three legs, but due to the sheer volume of postponements in the early season the plan was changed to make it a one-night-only meeting.

The ATPI Aces finished second overall in the 2022 series, with Ipswich the title defenders going into this highly competitive night of Speedway.

Belle Vue CEO Mark Lemon said: “We were highly consistent in last year’s series and, had the final round taken place, we could even have gone on to win it.

“With this year now being a one-off, there can be no room for error. As a team we’ve shown some good form around Leicester and I’m confident in our choice of riders.

“Dan, it goes without saying, is world class and is highly adaptable to most, if not all, of the UK tracks and I feel he was a no-brainer to represent us.

“It was a difficult decision as to who would race with him but Brady, again, has been just dominant all season long and in combination have the skills to be a real threat to the rest.

“As a rule, we have to give our Rising Star rider at least one appearance and the way that Jake has been riding recently I think he could surprise a lot of people.”

The ATPI Aces will be aiming to turn silver to gold in the 2023 Premiership Pairs at Leicester this Thursday, June 29 at 7:30pm and live on British Speedway Network at 7:00pm.
