IT’S set to be a glorious Monday evening when the Belle Vue ‘ATPI’ Aces welcome King’s Lynn to the National Speedway Stadium for their rearranged ROWE Motor Oil Premiership clash.

The two sides had been destined to meet last month, until the famed April showers put paid to those plans. But it couldn’t be a much different story this time around.

As the UK basks in brilliantly warm temperatures, the race for this year’s Premiership play offs is heating up with much at stake for both sides in Manchester this Monday.

Should the ATPI Aces triumph and take all three league points, they would overtake Ipswich to lead British Speedway’s top flight for the first time this season.

And King’s Lynn also have a vested interest in a maximum points haul, with a win for them taking them off the foot of the league table and into sixth above Birmingham.

It’s something of a modified Norfolk side that visits the national Speedway Stadium, with Josh Pickering standing in for No.1 Tobiasz Musielak who has been side-lined with a broken collarbone.

Richard Lawson also steps in to assist the Stars at No.2, with great Dane Ben Basso missing as a result of international duties. The ATPI Aces line up at full strength.

Club CEO Mark Lemon said: “The team that travels to us on Monday looks a little different to how it first started, but a cornered tiger is a dangerous animal.

“Even without Tobiasz Musielak and Vadim Tarasenko, King’s Lynn still have a lot of potential to put in an equally strong performance to mirror the one they delivered at the Adrian Flux Arena.

“And the gap on aggregate couldn’t be closer and I’m certain both teams will have the bit between their teeth for some much-needed points.

“I am very pleased with how our boys have started the season and though we could go top of the table tonight, that remains in our peripheral vision until after Heat 15.

“We approach this as we do every match, with focus and determination because, even with our fantastic home form, we’ll need to be prepared.”

The Belle Vue ‘ATPI’ Aces return home on Monday, May 20 when we welcome the King’s Lynn Stars to the National Speedway Stadium, tapes up 7:30pm.

We then take to the track once again against Sheffield on bank holiday Monday, May 27 for a midday start against the reigning Premiership champions.

Meeting tickets, race day programmes and south stand parking are now available to pre-book, along with race day hospitality, at bellevue-speedway.com.
