FOLLOWING their emphatic thumping of the Berwick Bullets on Good Friday, the Belle Vue ‘Cool Running’ Colts are determined to take their red-hot form on the road to Edinburgh on Friday, April 14.

They picked up from where they left of at the National Speedway Stadium with an almost flawless performance, with club newcomers James Pearson and Sam Hagon racking up maximum scores.

The Armadale outfit, now re-branded as the Edinburgh Academy for 2023, have strengthened up significantly over the winter period and a tough challenge no doubt awaits the Belle Vue boys.

Spearheading the side is ex-Cool Running Colts top gun Kyle Bickley and the vastly experienced Adam Roynon, but Hagon says his side is not fazed by Edinburgh’s heavy hitters.

He said: “I think our performance on Good Friday proved several things, firstly to myself as an individual and what I’m capable of but also as a team overall.

“Even with the delay while the paramedics saw to Archie [Freeman] we were keeping ourselves focused on the job we needed to do, tweaking the bikes to make sure we got the best out of them.

“And that showed in the result, and that’s something we can be very proud of especially for our first competitive meeting as a 1-7.

“Edinburgh isn’t Belle Vue though, and not only are they very skilled around their track they also have some very strong riders who will make us work hard.

“But there are no easy meetings as far as we’re concerned. All we can do is go there and do our best, and if our best is good enough then hopefully, we will bring home a few more league points.”

Premiership action resumes at the National Speedway Stadium on Monday, April 24 with double doses of Bank Holiday action with the ATPI Aces on May 1 and May 8.

The Cool Running Colts return to Manchester on Friday, May 12 against the Oxford Chargers where they home to further extend their flawless home record.

Meeting tickets, race day programmes, south stand parking and race day hospitality for the Premiership fixtures are all available to pre-book online at bellevue-speedway.com.
