IT’S a big night of action for the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership on Thursday, July 25 with six of the seven teams in action as the countdown to the play offs intensifies.
The Belle Vue ‘ATPI’ Aces are currently joint second in the league along with reigning champions Sheffield, and just five points behind league leaders Ipswich.
And after their blistering performance against Oxford at home, the Mancunians journey to Leicester’s Pidcock Motorcycles Arena where they hope to further narrow the gap on the Witches.
After their brilliant performances at the National Speedway Stadium, the club have recalled Jake Mulford and Antti Vuolas to be their guests at the lions’ den at reserve.
The team are determined to make strides with their away form, which has been one of their biggest challenges this season and club No.4 Ben Cook believes they can pull off a big result.
He said: “It’s great to have Jake and Antti with us again for this one. They seem to have settled in well with the boys so hopefully we can now knuckle down and we can get on with our season.
“Leicester are a tough team at home but this time around we have much more experience as a unit and we know more of what to expect from the track and how it rides.
“For whatever reason we have found our form away from home challenging this year but I don’t think it’s beyond us to get those wins on the road.
“We’re confident that we can push on and take something from this match, at minimum a good enough score to secure the bonus point but the win is top of the list.
“Things are getting tight in the league table now and we are on countdown to the play offs, but I feel that if we keep our heads and get on with the job we have the team to secure our spot.”
The ATPI Aces are on the road this coming week, first with a visit to Leicester on Thursday, July 25 and then Birmingham next Monday, July 29 for a face off against the Brummies.
The next action in Manchester arrives on Friday, August 2 when the Belle Vue Colts pick up their campaign against the Oxford Chargers.
The meeting curtain-raiser sees the British Youth Championship round, which kicks off at 6pm on August 2 with the main NDL action picking up from 7:30pm.
Meeting tickets, race day programmes and south stand parking are now available to pre-book online at bellevue-speedway.com/events.
