BELLE Vue commence a busy 24 hours in the WSRA National Development League, starting with a visit to Oxford’s Sandy Lane on Sunday, June 16.
The Cool Running Colts came agonisingly close to their first win of the season when they visited Middlesbrough recently, with the final result standing at 48-41 in favour of the Tigers.
And they are further boosted by the return of both captain Freddy Hodder and British U-21 Champion Sam Hagon to the septet, who missed the trip to Redcar due to other commitments.
They remain, however, without injury victim Luke Muff and flying reserve Harry McGurk, who is unavailable for this meeting and the club have called in two guest replacements.
Mickie Simpson and Eli Meadows stand in at No.4 and No.6 respectively, bringing the Cool Running Colts back up to a full quota ready for action at Sandy Lane.
Team boss Graham Goodwin said: “It was a challenging time against Middlesbrough with us missing so many riders but the boys put in an excellent shift and came very close to the win.
“The fact that welcome back both Freddy Hodder and our newly-crowned British U-21 Champion Sam Hagon to the team for today’s match is a huge boost both to us and to our chances.
“We look at how the senior Aces performed at Sandy Lane recently, given a lot of their boys had never seen the track, and their performance against the Spires gives us more encouragement.
“And though we’re still missing a couple of our usual 1-7, we strongly believe in these guys and I feel like we are in a good position and have nothing to lose.”
The Belle Vue ‘Cool Running’ Colts travel to Oxford on Sunday, June 16 for their first showdown with the Oxford Chargers, tapes up at 3pm.
They then return to the National Speedway Stadium on Monday, June 17 for the exciting conclusion to their close contest with the Middlesbrough Tigers, tapes up at 7:30pm.
Meeting tickets, race day programmes and south stand parking are now available to pre-book online at bellevue-speedway.com/events.
