BELLE Vue skipper Brady Kurtz and new signing Peter Kildemand both enjoyed successful outings in big Individual events on Saturday.
Kurtz won the prestigious Polish Ekstraliga Riders’ Championship at Lodz, in a meeting which featured several of his Grand Prix rivals including World Champion Bartosz Zmarzlik.
Meanwhile Kildemand put on an action-packed display to reach the podium in the Ben Fund Bonanza at Glasgow.
The action in Poland saw Kurtz get underway with a third place behind Mikkel Michelsen and Maksym Draibk, but he quickly climbed the leaderboard thereafter.
The only other point he dropped was at the hands of Jack Holder in Heat 11, although it came in a race which was re-run after Kurtz had initially taken the win before it was deemed there had been a starting gate problem.
Kurtz landed a big win over Zmarzlik in Heat 17 to move directly into the Final along with Michelsen, whilst wins in the semi-finals for Martin Vaculik and Przemyslaw Pawlicki saw the likes of Zmarzlik and Holder exit the competition.
After another stating gate failure in the Final, Kurtz pulled off a perfect ride to finish clear of a battle between Vaculik and Michelsen with the Slovakian taking second place.
Meanwhile in Scotland Kildemand proved to be one of the most exciting riders in the fund-raising Bonanza, especially with a brilliant ride to pass home track specialist Chris Harris in Heat 11.
A win over Leon Flint in Heat 18 took him on to 12 points, which turned out to be enough for an automatic place in the Final along with Justin Sedgmen.
Dan Thompson and Kevin Juhl Pedersen made it through the semi, and ironically it was those riders who finished first and second in the Final with Kildemand having to settle for third place.
It wasn’t such a successful night for Tate Zischke, who scored two points with his meeting badly hampered by a crash in Heat 13 when he was challenging Kyle Howarth for the lead, with Sedgmen thankfully laying his machine down to prevent a more serious incident.
