BELLE Vue stage another busy afternoon of Development racing with over 30 heats on the schedule at the National Speedway Stadium on Sunday (1pm).
The second event of the JR Ashworth & Sons Colts Academy takes place alongside the 125cc round of the British Youth Championship, over two categories.
Club youth bosses Graham Goodwin and Steve Williamas have assembled another competitive field of the NDL's best under-21 talent.
Freddy Hodder and Jordy Loftus, who both made the final of the last event in May are making a welcome return, and the field is bolstered by the inclusion of 20-year-old Vinnie Foord.
16-year-old former Colt Harry Fletcher is currently in superb form, and he's joined by his ex-Colts teammate Billy Budd.
The youth talent of the NDL is also featured with 15-year-old Seth Norman, and 16-year-olds Charlie Southwick and Emerson Betty.
Harry Sadler, who is in his first year of NDL racing at Middlesbrough is making his first appearance at Belle Vue, and fans may remember his father Nigel who rode in Britian, mainly for Peterborough.
To complete the variety, the line-up includes female racer Anika Loftus, the sister and Edinburgh teammate of Jordy, who is also in her first year of NDL.
In the British Youth 125cc section, the rider to watch may well the youngest in the field – nine-year-old Oscar Berwick, who may be the smallest rider in the pits, but he's set to be a big talent on the track. Adding to the local interest, Belle Vue mascot Jessica Cox is also competing.
Goodwin said: “With an afternoon of almost guaranteed sunshine, we're looking for the Belle Vue fans to get behind the kids and give them some real support.
“It's a bumper programme of 32 races, and with free admission for all kids under 12, it's a perfect time to bring all the family along for a day out in the sunshine. We really urge the Belle Vue fans to get behind the youth and spot the future talent.
“If you think back 10 years, the Colts were just unleashing a 16-year-old Dan Bewley on the Speedway world, and if you go back to our 2006 Belle Vue Junior Championship, our runner-up was a practically unknown 15-year-old by the name of Tai Woffinden, who was having second-half rides with the Colts before joining Scunthorpe's third division side.
“With Tai announcing his retirement this week, we wish him all the best for the future. But how many kids on Sunday will be dreaming of emulating his glittering career?
“There could easily be the next Woffinden and Bewley in that field, and we need the fans to support them.”
Turnstiles will open at midday with the parade at 12.55 ahead of the opening race. Admission prices will be set at regular Colts levels – Adults £15, Concessions £13, Junior (12-17) £6, Children (11 and under) Free, Family £36, Programme £2.
