BELLE Vue continue their National Development League campaign on the road when they visit Oxford’s Sandy Lane circuit on Wednesday, May 24 for their return fixture against the Chargers.

The Cool Running Colts put in a dominant shift at the National Speedway Stadium a fortnight ago when they romped to a 56-33 win in Manchester, and they hope to replicate that form in the South East.

With the newly introduced aggregate bonus point rule also applying to the NDL, there are potentially three league points on offer for both sides in this meeting.

Belle Vue will track a full-strength side after Jack Smith, having suffered a concussion in a Grasstrack meeting on May 14, was cleared to race after sitting out for the mandatory 10-day rest period.

The Chargers, meanwhile, are still without Luke Killeen, who suffered a wrist injury in a Heat 1 crash in Manchester and will be replaced by unattached guest Sam Woods.

Cool Running Colts No.2 Luke Muff says his side is targeting further success against Oxford and is confident of their form on the rod after an encouraging meeting at Edinburgh last month.

He said: “It’s going to be a tough night so we need to get our heads down, knuckle down and see where things take us but a win on the night is definitely not out of the question.

“We’ve given ourselves a great chance of coming away with the bonus point at minimum, after the way we performed at home but we really want all three if we can.

“But they are a strong team at home, there’s no taking that away from them. Even without Killeen it’s going to be a challenge so we’ll need to bring out best game, but I reckon we can do it.”

The next action in Manchester sees the Cool Running Colts take on the Mildenhall Fen Tigers on Friday, May 26 at 7:30pm in National Development League action.

Then, the ATPI Aces again find themselves up against the Wolverhampton Wolves, this time in Premiership competition on bank holiday Monday, March 29 at 12:00pm.

Meeting tickets, race day programmes, south stand parking and hospitality are now available to pre-book online at bellevue-speedway.com.
