AFTER over a month without seeing them at home, the Belle Vue ‘Cool Running’ Colts resume their home league campaign in Manchester against Oxford on Friday, May 12 at 7:30pm.

But ahead of the NDL action, the club is also pleased to welcome back the first round of the 125cc Class of the British Youth Championships when the British stars of tomorrow will do battle at 6:00pm.

With double the dose of methanol action for the same fantastic price, it’s an exciting start to the weekend at the National Speedway Stadium and sparks are certain to fly.

In their first outing this season, the Cool Running Colts wiped the shale with the Berwick Bullets and are targeting an equally strong performance against the Chargers.

Should they win this meeting, they can mirror the ATPI Aces and move towards the top of the NDL table ahead of Edinburgh and Mildenhall.

There is one change to the home heroes’ line-up, with Paul Bowen absent because of being summoned for jury service. Royton racer Jack Shimelt will guest for him at No.6.

Club boss Graham Goodwin said: “Oxford are a highly fancied team this year and Friday’s main event will present us with our toughest test of the season so far.

“Three of the Chargers riders also double up in the club’s Championship team, and with nearly half the Cheetahs racing you can see why we’re expecting a close encounter!

“But with the way the boys rode last time out and the way they handled themselves at Edinburgh we have every confidence in them to do a fantastic job.

“We’re also looking forward to staging our round of the British Youth Championship. It’s the youngest of the youth categories and we’re expecting 25 riders to be involved.

The Cool Running Colts have a busy end to their May schedule, first with a visit to Oxford on Wednesday, May 24 before they welcome Mildenhall to Manchester on Friday, May 26.

And, following the postponement of the Bank Holiday Monday fixture, the ATPI Aces will now stage their KOC quarter final deciding leg in Manchester on Thursday, May 18 at 7:30pm.

Meeting tickets, race day programmes, south stand parking and hospitality for the KOC fixture are now available to pre-book at bellevue-speedway.com.
